Double Leaf Swing Gate Motor Installation in Chennai

Two gate leaves, moving as one

A double leaf swing gate has two panels hinged on opposite pillars that meet in the middle. It is common on villas, apartment entrances, schools and office compounds in Chennai, because it gives a wide opening without needing space along the wall. Automating it needs a motor on each leaf and a controller that runs them in step, so the leaves open and close smoothly and meet correctly every time. RS Technologies installs double leaf swing gate automation across Chennai.

How double leaf automation works

Each leaf gets its own motor — linear, articulated arm or underground, depending on the pillars and the look you want. A single control unit drives both. It opens the leaves in sequence and closes them with a short delay between them, so that a leaf with an overlapping strip always closes last. An electric lock can hold the closed gate firmly, especially on solid gates that catch the wind.

Things we assess on site

• Weight and width of each leaf, and whether the two leaves are the same size
• Condition of the hinges, pillars and the meeting point at the centre
• Wind load — solid sheet gates need stronger motors than open grill gates
• Opening direction, space behind the open leaves and any slope in the driveway
• How many times a day the gate opens — apartments and offices need heavy-duty motors

What a complete installation includes

• Two swing gate motors with a control unit that synchronises them
• Remote controls, plus RFID tags or keypad access for apartments and offices
• Safety photocells across the gate opening
• Flashing warning light
• Electric lock or centre stopper, where needed
• Battery backup for power cuts
• Manual release on both leaves
• Optional: link to a video door phone, intercom or security cabin

Survey, installation and after-sales service

We start with a free site survey and give you a written quote that lists both motors, the controller, accessories and any gate repairs needed. During installation we align the leaves, set the opening sequence, limits and speed, test the photocells and train everyone who will use the gate. We service and repair swing gate motors of all brands and offer pre-monsoon checks, since rainwater is the most common cause of gate motor failures in Chennai.
