Smart Switch Installation in Chennai

The simplest way to start a smart home

Smart switches replace your existing wall switches and let you control lights, fans and other appliances from your phone, by voice, on a schedule or automatically — while still working like normal switches when pressed. They are the easiest entry into home automation, because in most homes they fit into the existing switch boxes without new wiring. RS Technologies supplies and installs smart switches for flats, independent houses, villas and offices across Chennai.

What you can do with smart switches

• Switch lights and fans on or off from anywhere using the mobile app
• Use voice commands through popular voice assistants
• Set schedules — porch lights at sunset, geysers before you wake up
• Create scenes — “Movie”, “Good night”, “Away” — that set several lights at once
• Check what was left on after you leave home, and switch it off
• Combine with motion sensors so corridor and bathroom lights switch themselves

Choosing the right smart switch

Not every smart switch suits every home. The points we check during the free site survey:

• Neutral wire — many smart switches need a neutral at the switch box; older homes sometimes do not have one
• Wi-Fi or a hub-based system (such as Zigbee) — Wi-Fi is simpler for a few rooms; hub-based systems scale better across a whole house
• Switch board size and finish, so the new switches fit your existing boxes and interiors
• Load type — fans need fan regulators or fan-rated modules, and some LED lights need compatible dimmers
• Wi-Fi coverage in every room where switches will go

Installation and handover

We replace the switches room by room, test every circuit, connect the switches to your Wi-Fi or hub, and set up the app on your phones. Before we leave, we create the schedules and scenes you want, link your voice assistant, and show every family member how to use both the app and the switches by hand. Smart switches keep working as normal switches even if the internet is down.

Grow into full home automation

Many customers start with smart switches in a few rooms and add more later — curtain motors, smart locks, video door phones, CCTV and climate control — all managed from one app. We plan the first stage so that it fits into a larger system later, instead of locking you into something that cannot grow.
