CCTV Camera Installation in Chennai

CCTV that works when you actually need the footage

Almost every CCTV system looks fine on the day it is installed. The real test comes weeks or months later — when you need to find a clip from last Tuesday night, identify a face at the gate, or check the warehouse during a power cut. That is what we design for.

RS Technologies has installed CCTV for homes, shops, offices, apartments, factories and warehouses across Chennai since 2014. Every system starts with a free site survey, and every quote tells you exactly which cameras go where, how many days of recording you get, and what happens when the power goes.

IP or HD cameras — which do you need?

HD (analog) cameras run on coaxial cable to a DVR. They are the most economical option and a good fit for homes and small shops, especially if some cabling already exists.

IP cameras run on network cable to an NVR, usually powered over the same cable (PoE). They give sharper images, smarter analytics such as line-crossing and people detection, and scale easily across large sites. For offices, factories, warehouses and apartments, IP is usually the right choice.

We will recommend the simpler option when it does the job — there is no point paying for analytics you will never use.

What a proper installation includes

• Camera positions planned for identification, not just coverage — faces at doors, number plates at gates
• Night vision chosen for the site: infrared for dark corners, colour night vision where lighting allows
• Recording storage sized for the number of days you actually need to keep
• Mobile viewing set up on your phone, with each user given their own login
• UPS or inverter backup for the recorder and switches so cameras keep recording in power cuts
• Weatherproof outdoor fittings and sealed connections for the Chennai monsoon
• Neat, labelled cabling so future servicing is quick

CCTV for every kind of site

• Homes and villas — gate, parking, entrance and backyard, viewable from your phone
• Apartments — common areas, lifts, parking and the main gate, with footage the association can review
• Shops and showrooms — cash counter, entrance and stock areas
• Offices — reception, entry points and server rooms, often combined with access control
• Factories and warehouses — perimeter, loading bays, gates and vehicle movement, with ANPR where needed
• Schools and hospitals — corridors, entrances and outdoor areas, planned with privacy in mind

Compliant with the 2026 CCTV rules

Since 1 April 2026, CCTV cameras sold in India must meet the government’s essential security requirements, certified through STQC testing. Existing installations are unaffected, but new cameras should comply. We only quote compliant models, and we will tell you if a cheaper quote you have received does not.

After installation: AMC and support

Cameras need occasional cleaning, recorders need hard-disk health checks, and firmware needs updating. Our annual maintenance contracts cover periodic inspection and priority service, so problems are found before you need the footage — not after.

CCTV installation cost in Chennai

The cost of a CCTV system depends on the number of cameras, HD or IP technology, how many days of recording you need, cable lengths and mounting. HD camera combo kits — DVR, cameras, hard disk and accessories — have fixed prices on our current offers.

Exact current kit prices are always on our Offers page. IP camera systems for offices, factories, warehouses and campuses, and sites with long cable runs or special mounting, are quoted after a free site survey.
